RSF deploys brigades to challenge Burhan’s army in Sudan

The Rapid Support Forces have deployed their troops on multiple frontlines in an effort to challenge General Abdel Fattah al Burhan’sarmy for control of the state.

Major General Idris Hassan has ordered 14 combat brigades into battle to attack government-held positions with heavy firepower.

The operation aims to break through the defensive lines of Burhan’s SAF.

The RSF is also targeting army-allied Islamist groups in an effort to weaken their military and political influence.

Heavy fighting continues across key areas as both sides intensify their military operations, leaving the conflict at a deadly impasse.
