The Sudanese National Ba’ath Party sharply criticized the “Five-Party Mechanism,” describing its political approach as a complete failure.
Political Secretary Kamal Boulad said the mechanism’s attempt to impose external perspectives has weakened trust among Sudanese political forces.
He cited the recent boycott by anti-war civilian groups as evidence of what he called the international mechanism’s growing strategic failures.
Boulad said any credible political process must be tied to immediate and practical steps to end the ongoing conflict.
The party warned that sidelining national consultation could deepen divisions and open the door to greater foreign interference in Sudan.
While rejecting the Five-Party Mechanism, the party expressed support for the alternative “Quartet” initiative, saying it better reflects the aspirations of the Sudanese people.
The statement concluded by warning that imposing an undemocratic solution would repeat the mistakes of the past and further delay lasting peace and stability.
