
Sudanese authorities have denied reports claiming Ethiopian forces recently crossed into the disputed Al-Fashqa border region.
A security delegation carried out a field inspection across key border areas to assess the situation on the ground.
Al-Rashid Al-Amin Qasim Allah, the local executive director, said Sudan remains in full control of border posts.
Officials urged the public not to spread or believe unverified reports, stressing that security forces remain on high alert.
Military commanders also reaffirmed Sudan’s neutrality toward the conflict in neighboring Ethiopia while pledging to protect the country’s sovereignty.
The fertile Al-Fashqa border region, which stretches more than 160 kilometers, has long been a source of tension between Sudan and Ethiopia.
