Dagalo congratulates Chad’s Déby on independence anniversary

Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, chairman of Sudan’s Presidential Council of the Government of Peace and Unity, has congratulated Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno on the 66th anniversary of Chad’s independence.

In a congratulatory message, Dagalo conveyed the best wishes of the Sudanese people to Déby, the Chadian government and the people of Chad, expressing hopes for continued progress and prosperity.

Dagalo highlighted what he described as the deep historical, social and cultural ties linking Sudan and Chad, two neighbouring countries whose communities share longstanding cross-border connections.

He also expressed his desire to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and relations between the two countries in ways that advance their shared interests and contribute to peace, stability and economic development across the region.

Dagalo concluded the message by wishing President Déby continued health and success, as well as lasting security, stability and prosperity for Chad and its people.

Chad marks its independence on August 11, commemorating the country’s independence from France in 1960.
