The Sudanese Founding Alliance government has moved to fill two senior oversight and judicial posts, with the auditor general, attorney general and deputy attorney general formally taking their oaths before the Presidential Council.
Bilal Hussein Ismail Kano was sworn in as Auditor General of the Republic of Sudan before Presidential Council Chairman Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo.
His appointment was made under Presidential Decree No. 11 and in accordance with the 2025 Transitional Constitution, as the government continues establishing its financial and regulatory institutions.
The auditor general is expected to lead the National Audit Chamber, oversee the accounts of state bodies and institutions, review public-sector banks, and exercise financial oversight over the accounts of regular forces and companies in which the state holds shares.
The office will also be tasked with strengthening transparency, governance and financial accountability, as well as helping combat administrative and financial corruption and safeguard public resources.
In a separate ceremony, Sanin Hamed Musa Madibo was sworn in as Attorney General of the Republic of Sudan, while Ahmed al-Nour al-Halla took the oath as Assistant Attorney General.
The ceremony was held before Dagalo and Chief Justice Idris Shalo.
The appointments form part of the TASIS-led government’s broader effort to activate judicial, financial and oversight institutions under the transitional constitutional framework.
