Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has said in a statement that they have made significant gains after fierce clashes in the Blue Nile region.
The fighting force said its allied Founding Alliance Forces captured large quantities of military equipment near the strategic border town of Al-Kurmuk.
The RSF described the operation as a major success, highlighting captured weapons and vehicles as key gains.
The clashes show how Sudan’s brutal civil war continues to spread beyond its original central and western battlegrounds.
Al-Kurmuk lies near the Ethiopian border, making control of the area important for supply routes and regional security.
However, communication blackouts have made it difficult to independently verify the RSF’s claims about the captured equipment.
The conflict has displaced millions of people and created one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.
