Sudan and Saudi Arabia signed an agreement to establish a Supreme Council for Strategic Cooperation and Coordination between the two countries.
Sudan’s junta Foreign Minister, Ambassador Mohi El-Din Salem, signed the agreement on behalf of Khartoum during the ceremony in Riyadh.
Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Faisal bin Farhan, signed on behalf of the kingdom, formalizing the new partnership.
Senior diplomats, including Ambassador Dafaa Al-Hajj Ali Osman, attended the signing as witnesses to the agreement.
The council will serve as a higher institutional framework to manage and expand cooperation between the two nations.
It covers ten key areas of engagement, including economic, investment, trade, and political cooperation.
Officials said the initiative aims to unify strategic visions and deepen the official partnership between the governments.
The council will also work to accelerate joint projects designed to support development and economic stability.
Sudan’s foreign minister said the agreement strengthens the strategic partnership and opens new horizons for cooperation.
The signing follows a series of high-level meetings between Sudanese and Saudi officials in recent months.
