Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty held separate telephone talks on Friday with Sudan’s junta foreign minister and a senior US adviser on regional security.
Abdel-Aty spoke first with Mohi El-Din Salem, reaffirming Cairo’s support for Sudan’s unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity amid the ongoing crisis.
The Egyptian minister stressed the need for a Sudanese-owned political process, free from external interference, to restore lasting stability.
The two officials reviewed bilateral relations between Cairo and Khartoum alongside fast-moving field developments inside Sudan itself.
They also discussed the Horn of Africa and Red Sea security, urging closer coordination among coastal states to protect maritime navigation.
In a separate call, Abdel-Aty discussed Sudan’s crisis with US adviser Massad Boulos, focusing on regional and international stabilization efforts.
Both sides emphasized supporting Sudan’s sovereignty and pursuing a political solution to end civilian suffering and preserve the country’s territorial integrity.
