Air Tanzania will restart flights between Dar es Salaam and Moscow on September 7, reversing a temporary suspension that took effect on Friday.
The airline said the decision to restore the service followed a routine assessment of risks along the route. It did not disclose what prompted the initial suspension or why flights were cleared to resume.
Moscow’s airports have experienced repeated disruptions in recent days, with facilities temporarily closed during drone attacks. Flight-tracking data from Flightradar24 showed the Russian capital’s airports were among the most heavily disrupted worldwide.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy warned airlines and insurers earlier this week that Russian airspace was becoming increasingly dangerous. While stressing that Ukraine did not target civilian aircraft, he said carriers should take account of the continued presence of drones over Russia.
Russian President Vladimir Putin described Zelenskiy’s comments as an act of “state terrorism” and said they could complicate efforts to restart peace negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv.
