Police in Sudan’s Khartoum state said they had arrested several suspects linked to theft cases in Ambada locality and recovered a vehicle and other stolen property during a series of security operations.
Ambada police said investigators from several police stations carried out field operations that led to the dismantling of multiple suspected criminal groups.
Among the recovered property was a 2024 pickup truck, which police said was traced after investigators followed its movements outside Khartoum state. All suspects linked to the vehicle theft were arrested, according to a police statement carried by local Sudanese media on Thursday.
Police also detained a woman who was allegedly found in possession of stolen foreign currency and arrested another suspect accused of possessing a stolen mobile phone.
In a separate operation at Kandahar Market, officers arrested two suspects who were allegedly caught stealing livestock.
All of those detained were referred for questioning as authorities continue legal procedures in the cases.
Police said the operations were part of ongoing efforts to combat theft and other criminal activity in Ambada.
