715 Sudanese people forcibly disappeared since the start of war

The Sudanese Group for Victims of Enforced Disappearance has reported 715 cases of enforced disappearance from the beginning of the war until mid-October in the Sudanese states affected by military operations.

According to the report, 666 males have disappeared since the beginning of the war, including 16 minors, and 49 females, including two minors.

The group mentioned that Khartoum recorded the highest number of enforced disappearances, with 309 cases, followed by Omdurman with 156, and Khartoum Bahri with 130.

The report also states that 110 disappeared individuals had their locations of disappearance not precisely defined, even though their disappearances occurred within the war-affected states.

The report highlights that it is based on communications with reliable sources, interviews with the victims’ families, and discussions with individuals who were released after being abducted.
