
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on Wednesday announced that it was committed to ensuring the security of the Jebel Awalia Dam and its staff as it worked towards facilitating the return of all teams, including Egyptian mission previously deployed to the dam.
“The RSF prioritizes the safety of Jebel Awalia Dam and aims to facilitate the work of engineers and technicians, while adhering to all respective regional and international agreements, including those entered into together with our esteemed counterparts in Egypt,” RSF said.
The group said it recognized the importance of working with Egypt to increase the distribution of water resources and ensure the safety of the dams in areas under its authority.
The group added that it was also supporting technical teams at oil pumping stations in South Sudan over the last month.
“The RSF reiterates its respect for the fraternal ties and mutual interests between Sudan and regional countries, especially our neighbors and Egypt. We express our deepest gratitude for their significant support in these challenging times and hope that it will persist, fostering regional peace and stability,” the group said.
