Deadly bus accident in northern Ethiopia: 25 killed

At least 25 people were killed and 14 injured when a bus overturned in northern Ethiopia on Thursday.

The accident occurred in the Dawunt district of the Amhara region.

The injured passengers are currently receiving medical treatment at hospitals in Delanta and Dessie.

Road accidents are unfortunately common in Ethiopia, a country with a vast and often poorly maintained road network.

This tragic incident follows a series of deadly road accidents in recent months, including a truck accident in December that claimed the lives of over 70 people and a bus accident in September that resulted in the deaths of at least 28 passengers.

These accidents highlight the urgent need for improved road safety measures in Ethiopia, including better road infrastructure, stricter vehicle maintenance regulations, and enhanced driver training programs.
