Four Barrick Gold employees detained again in Mali

Four employees of Canadian mining giant Barrick Gold have been detained in Mali, sources revealed Tuesday, as the military-led government seeks increased revenues from mining companies.

Mali, a major African gold producer, had briefly detained the same senior employees in September. Barrick CEO Mark Bristow recently expressed confidence in resolving disputes with authorities by year-end.

Barrick has yet to comment on the latest arrests.
