Families of 32 Kenyans killed aboard Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 will receive a combined $87.3 million, nearly seven years after the tragedy claimed their loved ones.
Chicago-based Ribbeck Law Chartered announced the payout, saying Boeing will soon issue final compensation following the conclusion of US legal proceedings.
The Kenyan families’ total allocation reaches $87,343,352.60, averaging roughly $2.73 million for each victim across multiple funds.

The payments stem from compensation funds Boeing established under agreements with the US Justice Department over two fatal 737 MAX crashes.
A 2025 non-prosecution agreement required Boeing to contribute an additional $444.5 million, layered atop a $500 million fund created in 2021.
Flight 302 crashed near Bishoftu, Ethiopia, on March 10, 2019, killing all 157 people aboard from more than 30 nations.
