Military airstrikes kill 30 Boko Haram terrorists in Nigeria

The Nigerian Air Force launched a precision night airstrike on Boko Haram hideouts in northeastern Nigeria, killing at least 30 militants and dismantling key terror infrastructure.

The coordinated assault targeted terrorist strongholds in Degbewa and Chikide, located in Gwoza’s local government area of Borno state, striking high-profile insurgent leaders late Tuesday night.

Air Force spokesperson Olusola Akinboyewa confirmed the operation, emphasizing its role in restoring security and enabling economic recovery in the conflict-ridden region.

“Battle damage assessment is ongoing, and further details will be disclosed as the situation develops,” Akinboyewa stated in an official briefing.

The strike comes just days after Islamic State-affiliated insurgents from the West Africa Province (ISWAP) killed 22 Nigerian soldiers in a deadly ambush in Borno state.

In response, the military intensified operations, eliminating 70 terrorists in retaliatory attacks aimed at crippling militant networks across Nigeria’s troubled northeast.

Since the start of the year, Nigeria has lost 35 soldiers in counterterrorism operations, reflecting the relentless battle against insurgents threatening national security.
