Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba recently met with President Hakainde Hichilema in Lusaka, Zambia, emphasizing the continent’s crucial role in the pursuit of peace.
Kuleba highlighted Ukraine’s commitment to implementing the Peace Formula following the recent Peace Summit, expressing confidence in Zambia’s contribution to global stability.
Notably, Zambia joined the summit’s communique, reinforcing its solidarity with Ukraine.
During their discussions, Kuleba conveyed Ukraine’s decision to assist Zambia through the “Grain From Ukraine” humanitarian program, aimed at mitigating the impact of this year’s devastating drought.
The two leaders also explored opportunities to strengthen bilateral ties, covering areas such as agriculture, digitalization, energy security, economic cooperation, and trade.
Kuleba’s visit to Zambia marks a historic milestone—the first-ever visit by a Ukrainian foreign minister to the country.
His broader Africa tour seeks support and aims to counter Russian influence in the region.
