On Wednesday, the Israeli military reported the death of Sergeant Omer Sarah Benjo, 20, due to rocket fire from Lebanon targeting a base in northern Israel.
While the origin of the rocket fire remained unclaimed, it heightened tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, with frequent cross-border incidents since Israel’s Gaza war in October.
In response, Israeli fighter jets targeted several “Hezbollah terror targets” in south Lebanon, including Adshit and Sawwaneh.
Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported Israeli strikes in Sawwaneh, resulting in the death of a Syrian woman and two children, aged 13 and two, from the same family.
Another strike in Adshit claimed the life of an individual identified by Hezbollah as one of its fighters, injuring 10 others and causing extensive damage to buildings and establishments.
Earlier reports suggested the death of a woman, her child, and her stepchild in Sawwaneh, along with another civilian killed in Adshit.
The incidents further escalate tensions, fueling concerns of a broader conflict between Israel and the Iran-backed Hezbollah movement.
