US President Donald Trump is travelling to China this week with 17 senior corporate leaders for meetings with President Xi Jinping.
Trump is scheduled to leave Washington on Tuesday and is expected to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing later this week.
The visit unfolds as both capitals test fragile pathways between economic cooperation and strategic rivalry across global markets.
The White House confirmed a delegation featuring Apple CEO Tim Cook and Tesla and SpaceX chief Elon Musk among prominent business figures.
Executives include Larry Fink of BlackRock, Stephen Schwarzman of Blackstone, Kelly Ortberg of Boeing, and Brian Sikes of Cargill.
Also participating are Jane Fraser of Citi, Chuck Robbins of Cisco, Jim Anderson of Coherent, and H. Lawrence Culp of GE Aerospace.
The group further includes David Solomon of Goldman Sachs, Jacob Thaysen of Illumina, Michael Miebach of Mastercard, and Dina Powell McCormick of Meta.
Additional members are Sanjay Mehrotra of Micron, Cristiano Amon of Qualcomm, and Ryan McInerney of Visa, completing the 17-member delegation.
Cisco’s Chuck Robbins, previously reported as withdrawing, has now been confirmed to travel with the presidential delegation.
Officials say Trump aims to explore new economic engagement frameworks, including structured investment and trade cooperation mechanisms with Beijing.
The trip reflects Washington’s effort to stabilise ties with China while maintaining firm competition in technology, finance, and strategic industries.
