Bangladesh recalls Saifuddin for Zimbabwe T20 series

Bangladesh bolstered their bowling attack for the upcoming five-match T20 series against Zimbabwe by recalling pace bowling all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin after a lengthy absence.

Saifuddin, who last played a T20 international in October 2022, returns to the squad for the first three matches.

The squad, announced on Sunday, features a mix of experience and youth.

Batsman Tanzid Hasan Tamim is the sole uncapped player included in the selection.

Notably absent are star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, recently elected to parliament, and pacer Mustafizur Rahman, currently playing in the Indian Premier League.

Najmul Hossain Shanto will lead the side, with experienced players like Liton Das, Mahmudullah Riyad, and Taskin Ahmed providing crucial support.

The younger brigade, including Mahedi Hasan and Afif Hossain, will also be looking to make their mark.

Zimbabwe arrived in Dhaka on Sunday, with the series kicking off on May 3rd in Chittagong.

The remaining two matches of the first three will also be played in Chittagong, before the teams move to Dhaka for the final two encounters.
