The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appointed Eric Sekou Chelle as the new head coach of the Super Eagles.
The NFF announced on Tuesday that Chelle has been tasked with guiding the national team to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals. The duration of his contract was not disclosed.
Chelle, a former Mali international, previously managed the Malian national team for over two years.
He led Mali to the quarterfinals of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations before his dismissal in June 2024.
Prior to his role with the Malian national team, Chelle coached clubs such as Martigues and Boulogne in the lower divisions of French football.
