A Sudanese woman weighing about 375 kilograms underwent a rare obesity surgery in Egypt after an extraordinary operation involving specialised transport and a large medical team.
The procedure was led by obesity surgeon Osama, with 14 surgeons, five anaesthesia consultants and specialists from multiple disciplines participating.
Civil Defense teams helped transfer the patient to hospital after conventional transportation methods proved impossible due to her weight.
Doctors said the woman was in stable condition after the surgery and described the case as one of the rarest in obesity treatment.
Osama credited the operation’s success to coordination between the Egyptian Ministry of Health, the Ambulance Authority and the Civil Defense, saying joint planning ensured safe transport and medical care throughout the procedure.
