The Sudanese Founding Alliance (Tasis) has condemned a deadly airstrike on Sharshar village in Sudan’s North Kordofan State, alleging that civilians were the main victims.
The alliance said the attack hit homes and civilian infrastructure, leaving dozens of people dead or injured, most of them women, children and elderly residents.
In a statement issued on July 29, alliance spokesperson Professor Ahmed Tagad Lissan accused General Abdel Fattah al Burhan’s army of carrying out the strike, calling it a serious violation.
The alliance said the bombing deliberately targeted populated areas and safe villages, describing it as a breach of international humanitarian law and human rights standards.
It said the attack could amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity, and called on international human rights organizations to conduct an independent investigation into the allegations.
The alliance also criticized what it described as the international community’s silence, claiming civilians across Sudan continue to face repeated attacks with little global response.
It warned that those responsible for what it called systematic attacks on civilians would eventually be held accountable through legal and international mechanisms.
The alliance expressed condolences to the victims’ families and said it would continue documenting alleged abuses while pursuing efforts to bring those it holds responsible to justice.
The allegations could not be independently verified, and the Sudanese army had not publicly responded to the claims at the time of the statement.
