Burhan-led junta increases fuel prices across Khartoum

General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan-junta-led Khartoum State authorities have increased fuel prices after the governor approved a new pricing structure effective April 2, 2026.

Gasoline will now cost 5,089 Sudanese pounds per litre, while diesel prices have risen to 7,278 pounds per litre.

Fuel stations were ordered to immediately apply the new prices by reprogramming their meters.

The decision comes amid severe fuel shortages and overcrowding at service stations across the capital.

Authorities set operating hours for stations from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. under existing sector regulations.

Monitoring teams, supported by security agencies, will oversee implementation to ensure compliance and prevent supply manipulation.

Officials urged fuel sector workers to follow the measures, saying adherence is necessary to ease the ongoing fuel crisis.
