General al-Burhan’s forces (SAF) has seized the home, school, and car of Sudanese Congress Party leader Hatem Mirghani in Um Rawaba, North Kordofan, according to credible sources.
Hatem Mirghani Abdel Rahman owns a chain of “NimNet” schools in the city.
After the SAF and its allied Islamist groups entered Um Rawaba, activists shared a disturbing image showing members of the Islamic Movement, in collaboration with the army, allegedly killing the director of the educational district in the countryside of Um Rawaba, Tayeb Abdullah.
The image depicted the director’s body, with reports stating that access to his body was restricted for several hours.
Activists on social media have raised concerns about the dangers of targeting civilians based on accusations of affiliation or collaboration with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). They have called for efforts to avoid involving the local population in military confrontations.
