Sudan Founding Alliance Forces have taken full control of the strategic Sirkum military area in Blue Nile state after fierce clashes with General al-Burhan’s army (SAF) and allied Islamist battalions, field commanders told Assayha.
The commanders said the alliance forces inflicted heavy losses on the SAF and its allied formations, including casualties and destroyed or captured military equipment, before entering and securing the area.
They said SAF units and fighters linked to the Islamic Movement withdrew from the position after intense fighting, allowing the Founding Alliance Forces to consolidate control over the military site.
Videos circulating online appeared to show Founding Alliance fighters inside the Sirkum military area, with soldiers declaring control of the strategic location.
The reported capture of Sirkum marks the latest battlefield gain for the Founding Alliance Forces in Blue Nile, where they have intensified operations against the SAF, Joint Forces units and Islamist-aligned battalions.
The development comes as fighting continues to spread across several fronts, with the Blue Nile region emerging as one of the key arenas in the wider war between Sudan’s rival military blocs.
