Sudan’s junta-led Foreign Minister Mohi El-Din Salem Ahmed Ibrahim met his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, in Ankara on Tuesday to strengthen bilateral relations.
The talks focused on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture and culture, reflecting both countries’ commitment to deepening their strategic partnership.
Ibrahim outlined Sudan’s efforts to restore security, rebuild state institutions and safeguard the country’s sovereignty following years of conflict.
He also thanked Turkey for its humanitarian assistance and continued support for Sudan’s territorial integrity and national institutions.
Fidan reaffirmed Turkey’s commitment to providing humanitarian aid and supporting initiatives aimed at promoting peace and stability in Sudan and the wider region.
The two ministers also exchanged views on regional security developments, including challenges facing the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea.
Following the talks, they signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen diplomatic training and expand cooperation through knowledge exchange.
