A joint security operation in Sudan’s White Nile state has arrested 85 people and seized unlicensed weapons, narcotics and unregistered motorcycles, local media reported.
The operation was carried out across Kosti locality by the army, police, General Intelligence Service and Joint Forces under the supervision of the state security committee.
According to Alrakoba, security forces targeted suspected criminal hideouts, areas associated with illicit activity and locations used to produce locally brewed alcohol.
Authorities said 85 people described as habitual offenders or suspects were detained during the raids. Security forces also said they dismantled several suspected criminal bases and confiscated motorcycles believed to have been used in crimes, along with unlicensed firearms and narcotic pills.
The operation was led by Colonel Malik Mohammed al-Fateh and supervised in the field by White Nile State Security Committee rapporteur Major General Hashim Bella Suleiman.
Suleiman said the raids were part of a broader security plan aimed at combating crime, enforcing the law and strengthening state authority.
He said similar operations would continue and could be expanded as authorities seek to dismantle criminal networks and improve security across Kosti.
Security forces said they remained prepared to continue joint operations aimed at protecting residents and property and maintaining security in the locality.
