Political parties, human rights groups and community organizations have condemned the demolition of dozens of homes in Khartoum’s Al-Khairat area, accusing General al-Burhan’s SAF junta of targeting residents based on their ethnic and regional affiliations.
Videos and photos shared by activists show homes being torn down and burned, with residents forcibly displaced under threat.
The Sudanese Congress Party (SCoP) said in a statement that Khartoum state authorities carried out the demolitions in Al-Khairat, east of the Nile, without prior notice.
Residents were left homeless and without any form of assistance, the party said.
The SCoP also warned that the government is planning to demolish the only school and water well in the area, further deepening the crisis.
The party accused SAF junta of a systematic effort to uproot residents, dismantle the local community and deprive them of their most basic rights to education and clean water.
