Qatar fund for development supports Sudan with 27 tons of aid

Two aircraft belonging to the Qatari Armed Forces landed at Port Sudan Airport on Wednesday carrying 27 tons of essential relief supplies.

The humanitarian aid, provided by the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), Qatar Charity, and Qatar Red Crescent Society, is aimed at supporting those affected by devastating floods in Sudan.
 

The delivery marks the latest chapter in Qatar’s ongoing commitment to the Sudanese people.

Since May 2023, the Gulf state has operated an air bridge to the country, providing critical assistance amid the ongoing conflict.

The latest aid shipment is a testament to Qatar’s unwavering solidarity with Sudan as it grapples with multiple crises.  

The 27-ton cargo includes vital shelter supplies and other essential items designed to alleviate the suffering of flood victims, according to a statement provided by the Qatar Foreign Ministry.

Details on the specific contents of the aid package are expected to be released in the coming hours.

Qatar has consistently expressed its deep concern over the humanitarian situation in Sudan and has pledged continued support to help the Sudanese people rebuild their lives.
