Resistance Committees: SAF is looting citizens’ homes in Salha

The Resistance Committees of Salha, located south of Omdurman, reported that General al-Burhan’s army (SAF) personnel have continued looting homes and property in the area, two weeks after the SAF declared it had regained control.

According to the Committees, looted items are being transported from the neighborhoods by various vehicles, including trucks, tuk-tuks, and rickshaws, with no visible intervention from military authorities to stop the violations.

The raids are said to have targeted occupied homes, with residents threatened at gunpoint. In some cases, passersby had money and cell phones stolen. The Committees raised alarm over the lack of security and the growing chaos in the region.

Looting escalated after the withdrawal of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), spreading to previously unaffected homes. The Committees urged military leadership to “assume its legal and moral responsibilities” by halting the violations and ensuring protection for residents, warning that inaction could imply complicity.

Despite some restoration of electricity and basic services, Salha residents continue to suffer the effects of war. The overall humanitarian situation is worsening amid the deteriorating security conditions.
