Field footage released by local journalists shows the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) making fresh gains inside El-Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state.
The videos depict RSF units pushing closer to the perimeter of General al-Burhan’s army (SAF) 6th Infantry Division headquarters, amid intensified clashes in the city’s eastern and southern neighborhoods.
According to frontline reports, the RSF is aiming for full control of El-Fasher, following months of siege. Local sources report mass civilian displacement and a sharp deterioration in humanitarian conditions across the city.
On Sunday, the RSF launched a new assault with heavy artillery targeting eastern and southeastern districts, followed by a ground offensive using armored vehicles and drones.
Military sources told Al Jazeera that SAF units and allied forces responded with medium-range weapons and artillery, managing to destroy several RSF vehicles and seize weapons and ammunition.
In a related development, the Sudan Liberation Movement–Transitional Council, led by Al-Hadi Idris, declared El-Fasher a “military operations zone” and called on civilians to evacuate to safer areas.
