Authorities in South Darfur launched a joint security campaign in Nyala on Sunday, bringing together the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Federal Police to restore order in the city.
The operation comes amid rising crime and instability in the regional capital. Security forces have begun patrols and arrests aimed at curbing lawlessness and improving public safety.
Officials describe the campaign as a preventive measure focused on stabilising the city.
Nyala has remained under RSF control following earlier clashes and continues to serve as a key hub in the wider Darfur region.
Security teams are conducting coordinated sweeps across neighbourhoods, aiming to rebuild public trust through a visible law enforcement presence.
The campaign also reflects broader efforts to establish governance structures in areas held by the RSF, with police officers gradually returning to duty under new arrangements.
