An initiative to educate forces on the rules of war began on Wednesday amid continuing Sudan’s turmoil.
The Rapid Support Forces and the International Committee of the Red Cross organised the workshop in Nyala.
The programme focuses on international humanitarian law and the protection of vulnerable civilians during armed conflicts.
Major General Dr Saleh Mohammed Manqbi opened the session alongside Walter Genti, head of the Darfur branch of the Red Cross.
Manqbi said the RSF remains committed to upholding human rights at all levels of its operations.
He also pledged security guarantees and logistical support for international aid convoys entering the region.
Organisers said the training aims to promote respect for international laws governing armed conflict.
The partnership is also intended to help speed up emergency aid deliveries to communities affected by the fighting.
