The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have declared the successful liberation of Al-Khawi in West Kordofan, following a decisive battle that resulted in the crushing defeat of forces aligned with General al-Burhan’s army (SAF) and what they referred to as “mercenaries of the Armed Movements.”
In a statement, the RSF hailed the operation as a heroic victory, citing the complete annihilation of the so-called “Al-Sayyad Division” under the banner of the terrorist Islamic Movement.
According to the RSF’s official statement, the battle inflicted heavy losses on the enemy, including over a thousand casualties and the capture of hundreds of vehicles and heavy weapons. The RSF added that while the equipment is still being tallied, operations are ongoing to track and eliminate any remaining enemy forces and commanders who were said to have abandoned their soldiers during the confrontation.
The statement emphasized that the liberation of Al-Khawi was a key strategic step, setting the stage for further RSF advancements toward El-Obeid and beyond.
The RSF stressed that the operation was part of a broader plan to eliminate terrorist strongholds and mercenary groups from Sudan, reinforcing their commitment to dismantling the threat posed by the SAF and other allied militant factions.
“We remain determined to continue the fight on all fronts, ensuring the complete annihilation of SAF militias, the Islamic Movement, and all associated mercenaries,” the statement concluded. “Our forces will press on until the last remnants of terrorism are eradicated, ensuring that the country is fully liberated.”
The RSF also paid tribute to its fallen soldiers, expressing gratitude for their sacrifices and affirming that the battle for Sudan’s future would continue until victory was achieved.
