RSF denounce SAF Nyala Airport airstrikes amid ongoing conflict

In a continuation of efforts to undermine infrastructure and spread chaos, Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) warplanes targeted Nyala Airport, the capital of South Darfur, RSF said on Tuesday.

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) allege that the strikes were ordered by SAF leader Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan and leaders of the Islamic Movement, describing the attacks as acts of cowardice.

The RSF argues that the bombing of Nyala Airport is intended to disrupt the implementation of measures agreed upon in the recent “Geneva Talks.”

During these discussions, the RSF proposed that international partners facilitate the reopening of airports in Nyala, Geneina, Zalingei, and Al-Da’ein, with the aim of allowing the United Nations and its agencies to deliver critical aid, including medicines and emergency supplies, to Sudanese citizens facing famine.

The RSF condemned the attacks on vital facilities and called for the United Nations and the Security Council to denounce the airstrikes in areas free from military conflict.

They emphasized their commitment to documenting the casualties resulting from these airstrikes, asserting that their struggle will continue until the leadership of the military junta is dismantled and those responsible for igniting the war are held accountable.
