The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) deploy five brigades from their Fifth Division in El Fasher to reinforce front-line positions as they push toward the strategic city of El Obeid.
The deployment marks a significant move in the conflict as the group seeks to expand its influence across western Sudan and tighten its control over key territory.
RSF says the Government of Peace and Unity, together with allied Tasis, has secured support in 84 administrative areas across North Darfur.
The group says the campaign is part of a broader effort to strengthen governance, deliver public services and consolidate its authority.
The latest offensive comes as fighting between the RSF and the Sudanese Armed Forces continues, with shifting alliances reshaping the conflict.
