Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in West Darfur have issued a strong statement threatening to eliminate rival forces aligned with the Sudanese Armed Forces.
The fighting group said in a statement that mercenaries linked to the “Islamic Movement Army” are seeking to take control of the region.
The statement also invoked historical and cultural references, mentioning traditional Hakamat bards and the legacy of the ancient Barmakid dynasty.
Amid continued fighting, the RSF said its forces are fully prepared to drive rival fighters from territories across Darfur.
