RSF restore satellite internet services in Wadbanda

The Rapid Support Forces have reinstated Starlink satellite internet in the city of Wadbanda in West Kordofan State, bringing an end to a 21-day blackout imposed after SAF drones struck the local market.

Sources told Darfur24 that the outage began on 30 October after the drone attacks, which the RSF suspected were connected to alleged cooperation between some residents and the SAF.

Residents said security in the area has sharply deteriorated, with repeated incidents of looting, armed robbery and night-time home invasions. The RSF also carried out a series of arrest operations, detaining four people who were later released due to insufficient evidence.

The drone strike on Wadbanda market resulted in several civilian deaths and injuries, destroyed the fuel market and left others with burns and fractures. Some of the wounded were transferred to hospitals in Ghubaysh, El Daein and El Obeid.
