Forces from the Sudan Founding Alliance, TASIS, say they have taken control of the strategic Al-Kili area in Sudan’s Blue Nile region following intense fighting on Saturday.
Spokesperson for the Rapid Support Forces in a statement said that the troops inflicted heavy losses on “terrorists” linked to the Muslim Brotherhood during what it described as decisive battles.
The group said the clashes signal a shift in momentum in a region long marked by competing armed factions.
TASIS added that its forces are continuing to push forward, targeting remaining pockets of resistance, while reporting signs of disarray among opposing fighters.
According to the statement, many fighters were killed or captured, while others withdrew, leaving behind weapons and equipment.
The alliance said it has now established full control over the area and is working to secure its position on the ground.
“The Rapid Support Forces reassure citizens that their safety is a top priority and urge them to stay away from military operation areas to protect their lives,” it said.
Residents were urged to avoid active combat zones as operations continue, highlighting the ongoing risks for local communities.
The alliance framed its advance as part of a wider effort to dismantle armed groups and move toward a system based on justice and the rule of law.
