The head of the Advisory Council for the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), Huthaifa Abu Nuba, has vowed that the RSF will continue its fight against General al-Burhan’s Army (SAF), as the Sudanese group continued its drone attacks on SAF-controlled Port Sudan for the fifth day.
In a video recording from the Kordofan region, Abu Nuba stated that the RSF would pursue SAF leaders across all states, declaring, “There is no safe place in Sudan from now on.”
His remarks signal a continuation of the conflict that has devastated the country since mid-April 2023.
The war began on April 15, 2023, between the SAF, led by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and the RSF, led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo. The fighting, which has largely concentrated in the capital, Khartoum, has resulted in hundreds of civilian casualties, including both dead and wounded, as the conflict intensifies.
The ongoing war has had a severe impact on Sudan, displacing millions and further destabilizing the region. The RSF’s latest comments indicate no immediate end to the fighting, leaving Sudan’s future uncertain as both sides remain entrenched.
