The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has expressed its support for the humanitarian aid efforts currently underway in Darfur and Kordofan.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the RSF welcomed the critical access of aid to those suffering through the Adre crossing.
The statement aligns with the joint declaration issued by international partners and the Geneva negotiations mediation team.
The RSF stated that the group has consistently advocated for the use of the Adre crossing, as well as the airports in Nyala, El Geneina, and Zalingei, as essential channels for delivering humanitarian assistance to the affected regions.
As the crisis in Sudan deepens and the threat of famine intensifies, the arrival of relief trucks through the Adre crossing is a crucial development.
The RSF, it said, has pledged its full endorsement, facilitation, and safeguarding of these humanitarian efforts.
The conflict, fueled by the terrorist Islamic Movement and its hostile elements within Al Burhan’s army (SAF), has led to a humanitarian catastrophe of unprecedented proportions, RSF said.
It called for immediate and coordinated international action to save lives and address the urgent needs of the Sudanese people.
The RSF reaffirmed its commitment to cooperating with all humanitarian organizations.
The Forces will continue to take necessary measures to fulfill the Sudanese people’s aspirations for freedom, justice, and equality, and to build a just and secure future for Sudan.
