A severe drinking water shortage in Al-Tina, North Darfur, is forcing displaced Sudanese children to queue before dawn for hours to collect water.
The local emergency room says children wait for water tankers to arrive, often carrying heavy plastic containers instead of school bags.
Around 200 barrels of water are distributed daily, but supplies remain insufficient to meet the needs of the growing displaced population.
Military operations across Al-Tina, Karnoi and Umm Buru have also blocked safe routes for humanitarian aid convoys.
The conflict has disrupted children’s education and forced many of them to spend their days searching for water.
