Sudan’s RSF chief Dagalo accuses SAF of assassination plot

The head of Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF), Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, accused SAF junta leader Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan on Tuesday of trying to assassinate him and his brother four days ago.

In a video statement shared on Telegram, Dagalo vowed to keep fighting the SAF, rejecting any negotiations with “those who kill their people by air” or refuse to acknowledge “their crimes.”

He warned SAF troops in Port Sudan against using al Obeid and northern Sudan as launch points for attacks on Darfur and Kordofan, saying RSF forces are “ready to move at any time.”

Dagalo also accused Port Sudan’s junta of harboring Islamic State members and said the war will only end after destroying the “Islamic Movement (Sudanese Muslim Brotherhood).”

Dagalo said Iran’s Revolutionary Guard continues to arm SAF, while also alleging Ukrainian involvement in the conflict.

He further accused Eritrea of supplying Burhan’s forces with fighters and weapons, broadening the regional scope of the war.

He advised residents of al Obeid and northern Sudan to stay home, shut their businesses, and avoid military areas as clashes intensify.

Dagalo also said the RSF had regained control of Dibeibat in South Kordofan and Al-Khuwei in West Kordofan, calling it a “great victory,” and claimed his forces had destroyed 70% of Burhan’s “Sayyad” combat unit.
