Sudan’s RSF denies SAF victory claims in Khartoum and Bahri

Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on Saturday dismissed claims made by General al-Burhan’s army (SAF) and allied factions about military gains in Khartoum and Bahri, calling them “misleading propaganda” that does not reflect the reality on the ground.

In a statement, the RSF said its forces remain “firm and cohesive” across all key fronts in Khartoum, Bahri, Omdurman, and surrounding areas, asserting their continued resilience despite ongoing confrontations.

Earlier, the SAF announced it had regained full control of the Khartoum oil refinery, marking an escalation in the conflict between the two sides. On Friday, Al-Sudani newspaper reported that the SAF had broken the RSF’s prolonged siege on the military’s General Command headquarters in Khartoum, which had lasted for 18 months.

The army claimed in a statement: “Our forces have successfully completed the second phase of operations, uniting troops from Bahri and Omdurman with those stationed at the General Command.”

While the RSF controls most of Khartoum, key military installations, including the military’s General Command, armored corps headquarters, and engineering corps in Omdurman, remain under SAF control.
