The Sudan Founding Alliance (Tasis) in South Darfur has announced the formation of interim committees following a meeting held in the state capital, Nyala.
In a statement released on Sunday, the alliance said the move was agreed upon by consensus and is aimed at strengthening institutional structures and organizing responsibilities within the group.
Tasis confirmed the appointment of heads for eight key committees, along with their deputies and rapporteurs. Hafiz Ahmed Omar was named head of the political committee, while Hashim Osman will lead the media committee. Ahmed Adam Issa Jarma was appointed to oversee administration and organization.
Other appointments include Mohamed Al-Hussein as head of the humanitarian committee, Abdullah Ahmed Mohamed leading the legal committee, and Arefa Al-Tahir heading the women and children’s committee. Adam Breima will lead the finance committee, while Abdelmonim Ibrahim Ahmed was named head of the youth, students, and sports committee.
The move follows a series of earlier decisions by the alliance, including the recent formation of a regional council announced by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, leader of the Rapid Support Forces and head of the Tasis alliance.
The steps are part of ongoing efforts to complete the institutional framework of what the group calls the “Tasis government,” which has designated Nyala as its administrative capital.
The Tasis alliance was established on February 22, 2025, by the Rapid Support Forces, the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North, and other armed groups and political actors, before later announcing the formation of a parallel governing structure.
