The Peace and Unity Government has announced the completion of all technical, administrative, and security arrangements for the 2026 Sudanese Certificate Examinations.
Prime Minister Mohamed Hassan El-Ta’aishi said the government is committed to ensuring equal access to the exams for all students, including those who were unable to sit in previous years due to the ongoing war.
In a statement issued on Monday, the government, which is based in Nyala, said the conflict that erupted on April 15 three years ago led to widespread destruction, the collapse of state institutions, and the displacement of millions of Sudanese, depriving large numbers of students of their right to education.
The statement said education remains a top priority for the Peace and Unity Government, describing it as a key pillar for rebuilding the country. It added that recent efforts have focused on identifying practical mechanisms to resume the education process and create conditions that allow it to continue despite the challenges posed by the war.
According to the statement, the Council of Ministers, in coordination with the Technical Supervisory Committee for Examinations, will oversee student registration, organize examination centers, announce schedules, and supervise the examination process to ensure transparency, integrity, and the safety of students and staff.
The Sudan Founding Government reaffirmed that education is a fundamental right for all Sudanese citizens and said it is committed to guaranteeing equal opportunities for students to enroll in universities and educational institutions under its administration, in line with established standards, and to protecting the right to education without compromise.
