The Sudan Founding Alliance (TASIS) said it launched pre-dawn drone attacks on multiple sites in and around Khartoum on Tuesday, naming an oil refinery, a power station and military facilities among the targets, in what it called retaliation for strikes on civilians in Darfur and Kordofan.
Witnesses and social media footage indicated blasts at about 5 a.m., including at the Yarmouk Military Industries Complex south of the capital, the Khartoum refinery and the Al-Merkiyat power station.
A SAF source said Wadi Saydna air base came under attack and that ground defenses fired on incoming drones. A second source reported a strike on an SAF-affiliated building in Bahri that caused damage and injuries among officers and soldiers. Residents in Omdurman said they saw drones crossing the Nile and reported power cuts in the Al-Thawrat neighborhoods.
The SAF has asserted control over Khartoum since May following battles with the Rapid Support Forces, which held much of the capital after the war erupted in 2023. Since losing ground in central Sudan, the RSF has mounted attacks on Port Sudan—seat of the SAF-aligned administration—and parts of Khartoum, while intensifying operations in Darfur.
