Turkey provides Ramadan aid to thousands of displaced Sudanese

The Turkish Red Crescent has extended a helping hand to 6,000 displaced individuals in Sudan amid ongoing conflict.

The aid distribution took place in Port Sudan, where Turkey’s Ambassador to Khartoum, Fatih Yildiz, and Turkish Red Crescent Sudan Team President, Ozan Mehmet Guzelmansur, were present to oversee the initiative.

Guzelmansur highlighted that the Turkish Red Crescent has been actively providing food, cash and iftar assistance across 18 countries during Ramadan.

These efforts span regions such as Asia, Africa, the Balkans, and the Middle East, with a particular focus on Palestine.

“As part of our continued support for Sudan’s humanitarian crisis, we have distributed food packages and iftar meals to 6,000 people,” Guzelmansur said.

“Our aim is to aid those enduring the hardships of war.”

The Turkish Red Crescent’s Ramadan initiative underscores its commitment to alleviating the suffering of vulnerable communities, ensuring that displaced families receive the necessary resources during the holy month.
