Bashar Mohamed Tibeq, a senior figure in the newly formed Sudan Founding Alliance (TASIS), reaffirmed that Sudan’s territorial unity is a “red line” that cannot be bargained away amid the country’s escalating political tensions.
Speaking to Al-Hadath TV, Tibeq said he had formally asked Port Sudan junta appointed Darfur governor Minni Arko Minawi to disclose details of a recent meeting with the ambassador of a “major power.” According to Tibeq, the envoy inquired whether Sudan might accept the creation of three separate governments—an idea he blasted as “irresponsible” and contrary to the goals of the transitional process.
Tibeq stressed that the presidential council set up under TASIS already includes representatives from every Sudanese region, underscoring the alliance’s commitment to a single, sovereign state.
